We get so busy in our day to day life, and neglect our skincare routine which leaves us with little to no room for self-care and self-love.
If you feel confident about your skin, you look confident to the outside world as well. You can sense one’s confidence in the way they carry themselves. For a better appearance, leaving aside the way you dress, it is important to have a face that shows confidence and radiance.
Why are we not taught this from a tender age that self-care should come first?! Let us do that for you now, you deserve it!
Spending 30 extra minutes in front of your bathroom mirror and taking several steps each day to apply skincare products might feel a bit exhausting, but the important thing to keep in mind is that – you can’t create a youthful complexion later in life, you can only maintain the one you have now.
There can be precisely two skincare routines: Morning routine and night routine. In this blog, let’s get some insight about the morning skincare routine.
Morning skincare routine
The morning skincare regime is all about protection and preservation throughout the day. First things first, you should identify your skin type and choose the right products according to it.

There are 5 basic steps for the morning skincare routine. One or two steps can be added in between, but mostly are optional. Let’s take a look at them:
Step 1: Start with a cleansing oil (optional)
Using a cleansing oil will wipe off all the overnight product built-up and also the dirt that has accumulated on your face overnight. Cleansing oil clears up makeup and excess oil and also softens your skin.
Step 2: Follow up with a water-based cleanser
Follow it up with a water-based cleanser that provides a deep cleanse to your face and clears off any remaining dirt and debris. Choose a soothing, low-pH cleanser that doesn’t irritate your skin.
Step 3: Use a toner
Toning your face is very important. Toner helps in removing any remaining bits of oil and dirt left behind by your cleanser. It shrinks the pores and balances the pH level of your skin. It also prevents your skin from producing excess oil. Take toner in a cotton ball and dab it over your face evenly and let it absorb into your skin.
Step 4: Don’t forget the serum
For those who don’t know, serums are highly concentrated solutions that target and solve specific skin problems. Choose a serum depending on the skin condition you have. Apply the serum on your skin, starting from the nose, and work your way outwards. Leave the serum on your face for 2-3 minutes before going to the next step of the routine.
Opt for serums by Slova Cosmetics for better results.
If your concerns are wrinkles and aging signs, there are some of the best anti-aging serums to banish fine lines and wrinkles.
Step 5: Moisturize Well
Depending on your skin type, either choose an oil-based or a water-based moisturizing lotion to nourish and lock the moisture into your skin. Take a few blobs of the moisturizer and smoothly pat it over your face and neck. Massage it into your skin until it is absorbed. It will protect your skin from drying throughout the day.
Step 6: Use A Sunscreen
Your skin needs a sunscreen lotion with at least SPF 30 (Sun Protection Factor) to protect it from the sun’s harmful UV Rays. Sunscreen protects your skin from sun damage, which otherwise can lead to aging signs like fine lines, wrinkles, and can also give you tanned skin. Apply sunscreen and massage it into your skin evenly.
Step 7: Finish with eye cream (optional)
The skin under your eyes is the thinnest and the most sensitive. Therefore, you need to use skin products that are specifically formulated for these areas. Use an eye cream to address under-eye concerns such as dryness, wrinkles, and puffiness.
Note: Based on your skin’s requirement, you can skip a few steps. But cleansing, moisturizing, and applying sunscreen are a must.
You should commit to doing these bare minimum steps each morning and put in that extra time investment for your skin. Follow this simple yet effective and easy ‘AM’ routine in order to keep your complexion in shape.
