15 Affirmations That Empower Your Relationship With Food

An affirmation is anything you say or think. A lot of what we normally say and think is quite negative and doesn’t create good experiences for us. We have to retrain our thinking and speaking into positive patterns if we want to change our lives.” – Louise Hay

The power of positive thinking and incorporating positive affirmations in your life can change the way you view situations, be it with relationships, career, or health Goals. It’s amazing to see how fast this practice is growing and gaining momentum.

Pоѕіtіvе affirmations аrе the communication between the соnѕсіоuѕ (thinking) part of the mind and the subconscious (action) part of the mind. Wе uѕе positive affirmations for success or negative affirmations еvеrу dау without even thinking about it.

These affirmations need to be realistic and such that they resonate fully and completely with you and should sound achievable to your mind. 

Positivity in mind can create such a drastic shift that a person or body or business can turn around and experience a breakthrough every single time.

How to create affirmations:

Science and studies have shown that affirmations do play an exorbitant role in our thinking process and help us to make a shift in mind from limiting beliefs to empowering beliefs. However, there are stages involved in creating affirmations that resonate 100% with us.

STAGE 1: List out the negative statements that you tell yourself very often

Eg. I have tried to diet for a long time, nothing works, I cannot be healthy!

STAGE 2: Rephrase the negative statements as positive affirmations.

Eg. My Health is my priority, I’ll do anything to be healthy!

STAGE 3: repeat your affirmations regularly. It can be done by writing one affirmation on  post-its and keeping in areas you frequent the most Eg. in your drawer, kitchen cabinet, or near the refrigerator

STAGE 4: Anchor these affirmations into your body.  

Breathe with your hand on the area of discomfort, as if your combined exhalation and hand placement is soothing or releasing the physical tension in that part of your body.

STAGE 5: Receive your affirmation from an external source.

Eg. ask someone to say it to you OR make your own voice recording and hear it regularly

Importance of Affirmations


Having spoken of positive affirmations, how do we now connect it to healthy eating Or patterns of food habits that serve us and help create a healthy relationship with food, which is so important to experience a disease-free body. 

One such important aspect is MINDFUL EATING and its loads of benefits. 

Mindful eating is about using all of our senses to be present when we’re eating,

instead of just going through the actions mindlessly, which include turning off the television, or putting down the iPad, and focusing on the textures, aromas, and visual appeal of food. As food becomes the sole focus, it becomes easier to tune into the body’s cues of satiety or sensation. Reaching healthy goals becomes easier, and our whole relationship with food begins to shift.

 Here are some affirmations to guide you on the path to mindful eating.

12. My taste buds are changing every day- I no longer crave foods that don’t nourish me.


13. I can easily make a nutritious, delicious meal.


14. I am worth the time and money I invest in my health.


15. I appreciate and give thanks for this food.
